This isn’t your usual CPD

AHPD's Continuing Professional Development is a vitally important tool for Australian health professionals and businesses who want to undertake online CPD that matters, on topics which can't afford to be ignored. The aim of our courses is to enable you to conduct your practice in the best possible way and with peace of mind for the safety of your career.

The courses are available for you 24/7, enabling you to work at your own pace from the comfort of your home or office. We’ve designed our learning portal to be easy to navigate and use, but if you do need help, we’re here for you. You’ll speak directly to us - we don't have a call centre or AI assistants.

We value quality, rather than quantity, and the information we provide to you will always be relevant, up to date and - often surprisingly - interesting.

Navigating the murky waters of health regulation

Our first series of courses focuses on health regulation and the obligations of health professionals and businesses. We appreciate the challenges in dealing with the complex laws, rules and guidelines that apply to your work, and we’re here to ease your mind.

The course content is provided by David Gardner – a solicitor and the director of a legal firm with a special focus on helping health practitioners navigate regulatory issues. David's background includes working for AHPRA, both as an investigator and manager, and he has seen first-hand (from both sides) the devastating professional and personal effects a notification to a regulator can have on a health practitioner.

This series of courses is designed to assist health professionals and businesses to take proactive steps to avoid ever receiving a complaint or notification from patients or peers – and if a complaint is made, to help deal with it as quickly and painlessly as possible.

"In talking to hundreds of practitioners during my time at AHPRA and as a lawyer, I found that I was often giving the same advice to people after complaints were made - after the damage was done. At AHPD, we want to give you that advice ahead of time, in the hope that you will never have to receive a complaint at all.”
